Sticky Skin Has Worsened To Something Unimaginable!

I have had a condition for a year when my skin becomes sticky when it is wet, then becomes normal when it completely drys.  All my doctors keeps sending me to other doctors who just basically tell me they think i'm crazy.  even my whole family, when i explain my symptoms think it's all in my head.  What is so upsetting about it is that I wear plastic gloves to keep whatever it is I've got from them.  and I remove the gloves, my fingers actually stick together when I remove them until the skin dries.  Now  all my fingers, face, lips arms legs everything on my body feels as if there is a thin, film or something that noone else can see, visually but me.  I know how my own skin feels normally.  sometime it feels like I am actually wearing a mask something. There is some redness but mostly noone, including my doctors can observe anything.  My dermotologist says hes never heard of such a thing, and when I told my family this,  they think I'm making it all up!  Yet I know I've got something i can't even explain to anyone anymore.  So i just quit talkig to them about it.   I have watched this thing spread from my underarms to my whole body then into my mouth and lips.  My eyes also now have the same stickyness around them and now even inside the eye causing vision problems and ocassionally an inability to clear the film from my eyes.  There is a severe burning sensation on my face now and believe it or not, I get strange flavors in my mouth, like an extreme salty taste, a bitter peppery taste and  now even, if I had to discribe it to anyone , i'd have to call it a bitter, salty mud taste.  There is a film in my mouth and teeth too.  I can't stand this anymore, I feel like I am a complete freak.  I've have strange chest pain and shortness of breath issues, which i think are completely related to my skin issue somehow, because the film I can feel this film down the back of my throat and my breathing worsens like a bad cold that will just not go away.  but the doctors just  say lose weight, and exercise.   Which i'm doing, but Like thats going to help my skin problem.  I cant find any answers.  I now am on arsinal of vitamins and suppliments trying to  find something, ANYTHING that might by chance correct whatever this is..  And I just keep watching it worsen..  It is so disheartening.   i met a guy online who said hes had similar symptoms and that he spread it to his whole family through showing inn the same shower.. it seems the only way to make people understand what I've got, is if they had it too.  Sure would like to find someone who an relate  it ***** out here alone!

After reading the comments, I am sure that this is a mental problem. At the very least, please talk to a psychiatrist and see what they can do for you. If it works, you're problem has been solved. If not, what's the harm? Also, if you do decide to take this route, please don't be afraid to share it here, so that others can make the right decision.

For those of you who are skeptical: I used to be like you; I used to think that my problem was real (it felt real to me, of course), and when I was told that I should see a psychiatrist, I didn't believe them. I tried alternative medicine, and that helped for a little while (less than a month), but then my problem started back up. After that, I finally gave in and saw a professional. My problem started to go away, and now, after 3 years (2 without medication), it is gone for good.

Just remember, mental problems aren't anything to be shy about, and those who recommend those sorts of treatment aren't trying to harm or scam you; they're just trying to help. While the same can be said for those many of those who are in the business of alternative medicine, they have no research to back up their claims, whereas that is what the whole scientific community is all about.

Please make the right decision, and at least give the psychiatrist a try.

You are wrong. It sounds real and is real. I have both serious health and mental health issues, including long term Lyme disease bartonella and viral likely fungal infections from a weak immune system. The symptoms they describe are observable and real and related to TOXINS. I have had similar rare syndromes related to low immunity and toxins from meds and infections. I have mast cell activation syndrome, a rare allergic condition that makes histamines attack people from exposure to anything. It causes shock like symptoms. I have had this, disautonomia and severe vascular depletion from diseased capillaries. I have very low VGEF, vasoactive growth factor. This happens in mold and toxin related hypoxic conditions. I suffer since anti histamines from severe dryness of the flesh, liveda rashes of mottling, red white and blue flesh and internal organ and mouth and eye pains and a sticky dry flesh everywhere. This is a real combination of toxins and probably scar tissues and capillary blood flow issues related to chronic sources of inflammation, such as mold.

I have the same symptoms as you.  I have had breast & lymph node cancer with radiation and chemo 27 years ago.  Have had a brain aneurysm 2006.  Have been to every specialist known to mankind.  Had problems after capping 4 teeth.  Symptoms are sticky eyes, nose, scalp and skin.  I have very thick saliva.  Constipation alternating with diarrhea. My skin looks leathery and I lose control of my bowel frequently.  Have had a colonoscopy.  Double vision.  High blood pressure.  Dizziness.  I am unusually cold.  Extreme itchiness and redness.  I don't mention this anymore because people and doctors think I'm crazy  I don't have candidiasis. Does anyone know what might help?  Doctors can find nothing.

Your reactions to this are exactly like mine.  I have had cancer and chemo and take pain meds for nerve pain.  I had dental caps to my chagrin.Sarah777771

I have all the symptoms discussed by the people above.  I think it would be beneficial to discuss our medications and medical history.  I noticed this problem after having dental caps put on and I have had chemo for breast cancer.  I currently take lortab for nerve pain.  I step on a bath mat after my shower and my feet stick and I drag the mat with me.  I have ringing in my ears and colon problems.  My skin itches and I have redness and edema.  I have been to dozens of drs and my family thinks I'm imagining everything.

This is the first I've read of the ringing in the ears, but mine is more of a zinging in head. Who knows, perhaps they are right that it's psychological. We all got stuck with the same think NG patterns instead. Nobody deserves to follow-up when they say they will. How many years later...?

Hi, i have had sticky sin for around 2 1/2 years now.  My skin on the inside of my legs is really bad.  When ever i pull my legs apart and forget like when i have been asleep my legs stick together and leave massive bruises. It also hurts like mad and i can not even light touch my legs as they are very painful.  My GP has never herd or Sean anything like it before.  Mine is, im guessing, because of my many medications.  I suffer from 3 chronic pain diseases, Psoriasis and several other complaints. I hate this sticky skin syndrome and have now noticed that my arms and private below bits have now got it to. I sympathise with all that have this complaint.

When you have sticiness in certain places and not all over body I feel confident to suggest a fungal infection.  Dermatologists are often useless, just buy over the counter antifungal spray and use it as directed.  If it helps, use it til it goes away, and then use again if it comes back - fungal infections can be difficult to get rid of.

Hello,

I recently noticed that my skin has been sticky all over my body like glue or some residue from tape...

Now the thing that sets me apart from the rest of you is that.. I used some type of hair care product from Regis called "sculpting mud".. And ever since I applied it, my hands feel like I still have the product(which was very sticky) on em..

I recently cut all my hair off because it seemed to never wash out.. I've noticed whenever I work out and get all sweaty, my whole body seems to be very sticky.. And actually seems to get worse when I shower, and dry with a towel..

I've tried several different bodywashes, dish soap, olive oil, milk.. I mean you name it and I've tried it..

My whole family thinks I'm just imagining this problem.. And I don't know if its due to that product I mentioned or mold or whatever it is..

But this is very miserable, I hate feeling sticky.. Especially all over my body... I guess I'm gonna try to see a dermatologist asap.. But if anyone has any suggestions that might help, I'd appreciate it..
