Why is my skin is eating my hair, all over my scalp and entire body?

My hair is literally retracting back into my scalp, and it's not just the hair on my head nor is it just my scalp retracting my hair! My neck is retracting, obsorbing my hair from my head, my whole body is retracting my pack fuzz and body hair, and I've even found it happening inside my mouth where the hair from my head having made its way into my mouth while I sleeping and my inner cheeks and lips as well as my tongue has swallowed up the strands, yet I can still see the curls of hair stands just under the surface but I cannot grab any of them. I assumed it was extremely dehydrated skin, or dehydration in general, but upping my fluid intake and trying every single hair and body oil and lotion all over has yet to show any difference or even show it down. My hair is twisting up inside my skin and scalp like little curly ques and it's happening all over!! Has anyone heard of such a thing? I literally had two huge bald spots on my head that looked as if I took a razor and shaved my hair all the way down to the scalp, but I didn't, and no it didn't fall out either! My parents eye bald spots appear, as did my husband and two children, and I tried to tell them that it wasn't me and it didn't fall out, but they were convinced that I pulled out my own hair and were ready to have me admitted into a long term mental facility for psychosis, but I just went along with what they were assuming happened and stopped sharing my concern, my incredible fear that i was going to end up completely bald and no one would believe me when I told them that my hair wasn't gone, it was just in my skin! I was beginning to think that maybe I was losing my mind!! I even pull colorful, thin strands of fabric out of my skin. The hair and fabric being in my skin has caused severe Acne type bumps but when I pop them, hair comes out of them and lots of it! Someone plz help me, I'm scared and alone and I have nowhere to turn. I'm terrified of going to the dr cause I don't think I can handle a Dr telling me that I am in fact crazy!! I would definitely end up that way if that is the answer I received. Help,

Dermatologist prescribed me medicine for allopecia and didn’t want to hear or see anything I had to say about what’s happening. Told me no that’s not right that’s not happening… I’m 40 years old I’m not a child man.

The worst part about all of this is how you’re treated and people think you’re crazy. So u are just frustrated and angry they on top of dealing with the pain and the way we look now because this. I have been doing little circles where I feel all the hair underneath are bunch up and try to untangle them and then sometimes they end up popping out all crazy. Your not crazy just mis understood

I believe it is parasites probably nematodes or flukes. I've been having the same problem for seven years now and it started when I was walking my dog as the sun was setting, and a big flying insect came at me (even though I was trying to wave it away). It landed on my head and I felt like Sparks were landing on me scalp and shoulders. I ran in the house and showered with nix shampoo. Whatever it was started bouncing off me- to the wall and back on me and stinging all over again. I had to sprinkle diatramethous in my hair and bed so I could sleep. Heat made it act up again, and I noticed tiny black specks on my face. Then one day I woke up and my waist length hair was suddenly up to my ears. It felt twisted in big curls but stuck flat to the scalp, and it's painful. I've learned that parasites will roll over at certain stages of development, and create a sticky substance to lock themselves in- and it's like spiderweb, or barneculs use to stick to ships etc. I went to a dermatologist who didn't even look but didn't mind laughing. The next one told me to come back when I stop doing meth- which I've never done in my life. I finally found an internist that RX ivermectin and that helped allot- for three days. This takes allot more than three days to tackle if that can be done. They're finding that insects can carry lots of illness including Lyme- and that's not just ticks. People that live in the south and in flood prone areas are having this problem. Many are calling it morgellans , which seems to be Lyme on steroids. It effects people with comprised immune systems especially hard. They're a documentary called Under Our Skin that helps explain some of this. I hope you get this message and that this helps, if nothing more than let you know you're not alone. Doctors either aren't taught or they're in denial about such conditions. But they're finding that people that have gotten Lyme from ticks and we're immediately treated, are apparently only in remission. There's lots of us ,but the US medical community aren't up to admitting there's a problem

Morgellons! It sucks but sure sounds like it! Sadly Drs don't believe you. Funny even bother with them.

I am going thru the same thing only no balding. My hair just finds it's way under my skin. I can feel it, it hurts sometimes. My Derm says adult acne. Ha! Finally acne under control but the fine hair on my head just hurts my skin and it seems like it melts right into my skin! And a few spots on my neck I can pull strands of hair continually! One hair after another. They lock onto each other. Seriously there has to be an end!!!

Did you ever get this figured out? I’ve had a very similar issue I’ve been dealing with for years.

You’re not in pain? I’m in constant pain at this point. The back of my neck is where the hair moves down, connected together. I’ve got a rubbery film on my body that I believe is from ear wax. There’s a couple of paths that the hair uses to go into my ears. When I can pull these apart it’s sticky like wax.

It’s over my entire body, in my eyes, nose and mouth. I think the hair we shed naturally everyday is somehow getting caught up in some bizarre hair chain and I don’t know how to stop it. It catches lint, bugs, dirt that gets stuck in my skin and scalp.

I don’t lose hair but if I comb it or try washing it, a lot comes out. The thing is, I have thicker hair now than ever before in my life. The amount that comes out should have left me bald by now. I just don’t think I can take the pain much longer. I don’t have control of my motor skills and walk like a drunk. I drop things constantly. It feels like my body is spinning inside. When it’s moving it hurts so much.

The amount of hair that has amassed is very easy to see. It’s like thick cords under my skin. And my stomach is another area I believe has a large amount of hair in it.

I won’t even go into all the weird things I’ve seen, I can’t if I want to keep my sanity. Doctors won’t help. Family won’t help. Friends  don’t believe it. This leaves you truly alone, which for me has been one of the hardest things about this.

I have a friend I met on here and last I knew she was in the hospital, (finally they admitted her) but they don’t know what’s wrong and aren’t treating her, other than a morphine drip. They won’t believe any thing about hair. Both of her sons witnessed her hair retracting and the drs don’t care. She doesn’t deserve this.

At this time I don’t believe I’ll get help in time and I’m just waiting it out. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later because this is a nightmare and it’s hard to believe I’m living it.
I'm going through the same thing. My hair was toy waist now it's been curled tight up to my ears. I was attacked by a flying insect I believe was a Taurus beetle and they're known to carry nematodes. It's been six years since. It feels like something rubbery is under my skin down my back and scalp. It's twisted tight especially at the ears- they love to hug the ears. I'm having no luck with doctors. I have one that's Rx ivermectin for a few days but now I read that it only kills the young. DEC KILLS THE ADULTS- only a doctor has to get it from the CDC, good luck with that. I know people that have gone to Mexico for treatment. A friend has a doctor doing IV antibiotics etc but in Mexico. His doctor is also a practicing doctor in California. I wish I had his name.To me is possiblity Lyme on steroids. I can't even get a doctor to test for Lyme because they believe it only comes from ticks which scientists are finding is not true. Also doctors believe if you have parssites - it would be in your stool. No not necessarily. And they can get stuck in the organs like the pancreas. This seems to go into the glands and skin. My legs are swelling and my neck. Oh if you take ivermectin stay away from caffeine.. I hope this helps someone

I know this is scary, but it's important that you do go to the doctor.  With something on this level when you are seeing bald spots and "missing" so much hair- it could be something like a hormonal issue- which you will need to have tests run in order to diagnosis.  Your doctors are there to help you, so don't be afraid to reach out.  Let us know how you are doing.

In most of these cases it's definitely not hormonal- it's parasites and the doctors are neglecting lots of people. I didn't believe it at first but after seven years of doctors denying ANY tests or even looking, and considering all the symptoms- it's real
