feels like a bug under the skin

My boyfriend has an aggravating itch, usually on his arm, that feels like a bug. He says the bug is under his skin biting. I know what hes talking about because I had the same problem. Mine went away. There is no bumps. Just a biting feeling that lasts a long time. Think about a tiny, tiny bug with sharp teeth. What could this be? Is that what scabies are? Thank you for your help.

Do not bother with the Doctors office. They will all tell you it is in your mind, even though there are many parasites that will do this , like the scabies, but they are more external, look at this one, I think I got this one somehow. Hi

The symptoms of itch associated with a feeling like a bug underneath the skin may be due to causes like insect/bug bites, skin conditions like scabies or due to cocaine dependence (cocaine bugs- a sensation of insects/bugs crawling under the skin with or without a skin itch is seen as a withdrawal symptom in cocaine dependence).

Your boyfriend should consult a doctor for a possible diagnosis and treatment as it is difficult to comment on the cause for these symptoms without actually examining the patient.

Do write in if you need any additional information.

Take care
