penis and navel psoriasis

Sir, I am currently suffering from psoriasis on the penis head and also on the edge of the foreskin at the end of the penis head which is connected to the foreskin. I also have psoriasis on the navel which leads to smelly discharges of a whitish liquid. What can I do to treat this? I have psoriasis on various other parts of the body but it is a recurring form and when I apply dermovate or betnovate on the affected area it does not recur on the same spot again. Pls help

Hi,

What symptoms are you having currently? Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

This could be - pearly penile papules or fordyce spots. You would need to consult your doctor for a confirmed diagnosis.

This could also be genital warts, but nothing can be said with surety without a clinical examination.

'Pearly penile papules are multiple, small (about 1-3mm) papules running around the circumference of the crown of the glans penis. They typically develop in men aged 20 to 40, and around 10 per cent of all men are affected. They may be mistaken for warts, are not infectious and require no treatment.'

'Fordyce spots are small (1-5mm) bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and usually affect younger men. They may occur as a solitary lesion, but frequently appear in crops of 50 to 100. They are painless and not itchy, but may cause embarrassment because of their appearance, or a fear that they might be sexually transmitted. '

Post us about what your doctor advises.

Hi,

Flexural psoriasis (inverse psoriasis) appears as smooth inflamed patches of skin. It occurs in skin folds, particularly around the genitals (between the thigh and groin), the armpits, under an overweight stomach (pannus), and under the breasts (inframammary fold). It is aggravated by friction and sweat, and is vulnerable to fungal infections.'
