When I read your story I could feel your frustration. P.E.T. book has helped tremendously. How is your daughter's weight and growth? You have sweets under lock and key! Come on mom, what is the first thing your daughter will do when she is out on her own? You could prepare healthy sweet treats made with green stevia. I make cookie's, freezer balls, almond joy, lemonade, and even ice cream sugar free. There is always a jar of organic raw almond butter in the fridge. My daughter is often involved in food preperation, I have used the kitchen as a teaching tool. One day our children will have to make their own decision as to what they will eat. We need to educate ourselves and teach the best we can.
You also mentioned that your daughter is eating more and more. Maybe her body needs certain foods and water that she is not getting. My daughter is an "alkavorian", and she is 8. I homeschooled her for four years and she just finished her 1st year in private school. She loves school. My daughter was diagnosed over a year ago.
WE ONLY KEEP VERY FEW SWEETS IN THE HOUSE.[THEY ARE UNDER LOCK AND KEY] WE ALWAYS KEEP FREE FOODS FOR HER TO EAT ANYTIME.SHE GETS THE RIGHT CARBS.WE EAT VERY HEALTHY AND TRY TO EXPLAIN TO HER IF SHE WOULD STOP AND LET HER LEVELS BE GOOD WE COULD CHEAT A LITTLE EVERY ONCE AND AWHILE...MAYBE GO OUT FOR ICE CREAM. I DO HAVE A REBELLION ON MY HANDS. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH SPEAKING WITH A PROFESSIONAL IS HER MANUPLIATION TACTICS.BUT I AGREE THATS PROBALLY WHAT IM GOING TO HAVE TO DO VERY SOON.
I don't know what kind of carbs she's eating but if it's mostly junk food and sweets the solution is simple - keep it out of the house. Stock the fridge and pantry with healthy food and use junk food as a treat when you're out. Even if the treat is every day which I almost think you will need to do. My sister in law has always done something I wish I started when our kids were little - her kids have no sweets during the day (except a little something in their lunch bag at school) and then she always has a nice dessert with dinner. But since she's eating ketchup it sounds like you've got some rebellion on your hands. She may need to speak with a professional since rebellion in this are could make her very, very sick.
