here's one trick to try... drink lots of water! they do say you should have at least 8 cups of water a day. so i say drink up before and after a meal. it's a little trick to making you feel fuller after eating that salad or whatever kind of food. oh, and sometimes we think we're hungry when really we're just thirsty. i tell myself that all the time as a reminder. of course, if after having a glass of water doesn't do it, then maybe you are hungry? eating 5-6 small meals (300-400 calories) a day can help too. and because they're spread 2-3 hours apart you won't feel like snacking on other not so healthy foods. it's like you get to eat all the time! of course, keep those meals healthy. :)
good luck everyone!
Been doing pretty good on my wt loss journy. I have been eating more salads and running 3 days after the past work. The thing is after I eat the salad, I still feel hungry.?? Why can't I be full after the salad?
Hi, I think you are doing well. Just keep to be on track and try to keep motivated. When you feel hard to go and work out think about your goal and think what kind of good feeling you have after workout. Also premier yourself when you have reach the goal. I made 2 goals. Fist is smaller and I will premier myself with smaller thing when I will reach it. Second one bigger and when I will reach to it I will premier myself with bigger thing. It's holding me on track and it's working we'll to me. Keep your head up and don't think too much about your weight. Stress don't let to lose weight.
Keep going :)
'Diet does'nt work for me'?? That is ridiculous, your willpower is just not strong enough. Don't mean to sound harsh, but you need a reality check. A slim body comes from healthy foods, excercise alone won't help you much. Right now you are a sugar-addict and that is why you crave soda and that is the reason salads don't taste good. 80% of weightloss comes from a healthy diet and if you starve yourself, you will eventually just get fatter. I workout 6 times a week, sometimes have 2 workouts a day and can burn up to 2000 calories. But I don't lose ANYTHING if I indulge in foods that spike up my sugar levels. So doing one hour of yoga will probably burn 300 calories max, it won't help at all if you continue to 'hate veggies'. And a 15min jog just burns 100kcal, if your heart rate is at least in the 60% range. Get a hold of yourself!!! There is so much information out there about healthy eating, just spend some time reading and learning. Stop being lazy and stop making excuses, there is no easy way to lose weight. If there was a way to binge eat junk foods and stay skinny, fat people would'nt exist.

You can do it tks! I used to be 220 lbs and I'm only 5'5" tall; I now weigh 133 and no one is encouraging me in this weight loss. Last year I made it down to 115 lbs but then I gained 30 lbs. I do walking exercises and journal what I eat; ad I walk. I listen to Bible Studies online. Walk in the Word is one great list of listening and Daily Hope is another. My hang up I'd coffee, though I don't have sugar in it. Www.walkintheword.com www.dailyhope.com
The chia seeds I mix with tea. I just eat them after a meal-then I don't really have the munchies for something sweet. 2 teaspoons . I also have added them to eggs for the same result. I can't say they're as awesome as some people seem to think, but I just started using them. We'll see.
Good job on cutting the soda; you really did it the hard way. Often it's much easier to cut back a little at a time, than to cut it all at once. For instance, if you normally drink 6 cans/day, replace one of those cans with water, tea, etc, and when you're used to that, replace another can with water, tea, etc. until eventually, you don't miss the soda.
Tanyaluv - what about the chia seeds? You eat them whole? I have some that I mix into various foods or shakes, but they don't really seem to do that much for me.
Good job on the soda. you just gotta keep that up. I ran a mile and half yesterday and improved my time to 14:22. Now I just gotta run one minute faster and get my situps and pushups on board and I will be set. I have tried the chia seeds that a lot of other nurses at my job eat-they tend to help me not snack. I mean, if I want a bar of chocolate-I will have some chia seed. Next thing you know, I don't really want the extra chocolate. This is perfect for me. I have a really hard time not eating extra snacks.
Yeah, i've been drinking watermelon tea, I figured that would be easier to quit drinking. I havnt had any pepsi since I made this posts and havnt gotten a headache yet. Usually it hits me after one day, so I have my fingers crossed i'll be lucky enough it won't happen haha.
Rt now I am 148 and 5ft 7. I want to lose 10 -15lbs. A lot of my wt is on my belly and I know that's not healthy or pretty! I hear you about soda. I fought that battle in July. I would get serious migraines but I stuck to it. I would wake up and take motrin 800mg rt away before the migraines started. After about 3 weeks, I was able to not crave it any more. I still don't drink soda unless there is seriously nothing else and I am thirsty. I had one a few weeks ago, but that's it. You got this TKS. just tell yourself that you can do it and stop cold turkey. That's the only way. Also, have something sweet on hand, like lemonade or tea. If you REALLY have to have something, don't drink pepsi, have some lemonade. Its not super healthy, but it'll keep you away from the pepsi.
Soda is gonna be my buggest battle, I drink 1 liter of Pepsi a day.. It's bad, I have fits without it.
Your work can be considered exercise, but the problem is, if you do the same things every day, it's no longer a challenge for your body, which is why you are not longer losing.
I'm pretty much like you and Tanya - I like to get full when I eat, so sometimes, not eating works better than trying to cut calories. The trick is to find things you can eat, that have lots of volume but few calories. That's where the veggies and fruit come in, because they have lots of fiber. Another thing is to make sure you get plenty of lean protein each time you eat. That can be in the form of lean beef, pork, chicken, fish, low/no fat dairy, eggs, etc.
You'll have to cut out sodas and sugary snacks, because those are the real culprits. Switch to whole grain breads and pastas and brown rice, instead of white.
You don't have to make a bunch of changes, all at once. Make small changes that you can live with and only make one at a time and once that becomes habit, change something else. For instance, start replacing one soda/day with an equivalent size glass of water (add some lemon for taste, if you like). Once you're used to drinking one less soda/day, you can go to drinking 2 less, and so on, until you've eliminated soda from your diet.
This is not a fast way to lose weight, but there really is no fast, safe way to lose.
It sounds like what happened is that you lost a lot of weight real quickly, without exercising and keeping your muscles toned.... that contributes to the saggy tummy and the "bat wings". Yoga is excellent for toning muscles and making you feel "long and lean".
I did a calerie calculater and as little excerise as i'm getting now I should be getting about 1800 calories for extreme weightloss. The thing is idk if I should consider work excercise, I do alot of repenetive movements in a fast pace and like I said. When I lost that 40 pounds I didnt have to change my diet or anything. If I was to go on a diet i'm sure I could lose more weight, but like I said, dieting doeant work for me.
Thanks for your reply! Do you mind me asking what your current weight and height is and what your goal is?
Hi there! I am 33/with 3 kids. Well I am about to take a physical in 30 days.I really need to lose about 10 lbs and get a lot better at my run time. So here goes. I will start counting carbs tomorrow. I did pushups and squats yesterday and will to some situps today. Tomorrow I will do my 1.5 mile run and hope to my time is less than 15minutes. I need to run about 13 min for the score I want. TKS-I hear you about dieting. I too am not good about dieting, starving is somewhat easier than dieting as weird as that sounds. But I am here for you! I am shooting for around 1200-1500 calories a day and I will start tomorrow. I don't like veggies either, but I have been forcing salads on myself lately. We just have to get better!. K well hope to hear from you. T
Oh yeah, my goal is to weigh about 145 pounds in like 6 or 7 months? I'd be crazy syked, I havnt been "small" since I was like 13 :(
