Nonhealing wounds on dog

Hello there. I am a vet student and I'm stuck at a case that doctors here says it's a closed case. I believe there is more in the situation but cannot find out what it is to reopen the case. So here is the situation. A dog, female, 7 years old. She came to the clinic with wounds near her eyes and right caudal paw. The owner said her wounds are not healing for over 3 months. She brought the blood test results taken by the last clinic the dog has been seen and there is nothing to get a clue. So the doctors here suspected of sensitive skin and her wounded toe has been removed. But I asked all about the dogs medical history and figured that the dog has been diagnosted with enlarged heart issue. So this made me more suspicious about what if we diagnosted wrong? The owner said that her first nonhealing wound happened to her when she was 3 and she said it was just a IM injection and when the dog got that shot, she had a little injection dot on her skin but after a week it turned in to a large wound with inflammation. After that every wound she got was healing slower than before. I am highly suspicious it is diabetes mellitus but doctors here says the old tests that the other clinic ran shows nothing about it. I have an instict that there is something wrong with that dog it's "not" sensitivity. I also feel like it can be leishmania somehow because of the enlargement of heart. But I am just a student at 3rd grade so, I don't have enough knowledge to be sure or diagnose. I hope I can find a solution here for the patient before she loses another part of her body. I hate sending her away in pain and remaining issue.

I think it is admirable that you are trying to help the dog but the vets in the clinic working with her would be your best source of information and help.  They are ultimately responsible.  good luck
