My dog has a lump in the same area. Took him to the vet and because of the high white blood count would not remove the lump. I had to make an appointment with another vet that specializes in this area, but it's 3 weeks away. Is there still hope for my dog?
Welcome....There are many things that create growths/tumors.....They don't have to be malignant! In such a young dog, this could be an abcess that is infected & needs drained.....Either way, your dog is obviously uncomfortable & needs to have it removed.....Any lump or growth on a dog needs to be evaluated as soon as they appear.....The longer you wait, the worse it will get & the harder it will be to remove......Your dog needs to see his Vet ASAP......Let us know what you find out! Hip dysplasia my black lab had the same thing it will start causing lots of pain in the next 2 years or so if you don't take him to the vet. My black lab died from this we had to put her down. It got to the point where she could not move, but that was after about 4 years of having Hip dysplasia.
