My 8-year Rott/Akita mix slowed down eating last Thursday. I had brushed her teeth with a new dog toothpaste (Denta Clean Mint) the previous day. Over the weekend, I noticed she had slowed down eating and was not as active. I took her to the vet Monday for her annual checkup (amazingly she perked up), so I thought all was fine. The next day, she was somewhat out of it (I figured from the shots she received). Now she hardly will eat anything (from steak to chicken, you name it) and she drinks alot of water. I took a suggestion from another site, to give her a couple teaspoons of honey (to help her with her energy level, not eating). She perked up a bit this morning, but I'm sure there is more going on. I will be taking her to the vet today at 2 PM EST but I was wondering ....
Has anyone else had a problem with this type of toothpaste? Could it be bad on her tummy? My Rott didn't seem to have any problem with it, but then again he seems to be able to eat anything (he's Lexies' father and he is nine years old). I am scared outta my wits, after reading some of the other symptoms.
