Hi. If you found him in his sleeping position, then he probably passed away peacefully in his sleep. I am very sorry for your loss. I am sure you are heartbroken. Our dogs are often our most loyal best friends, our surrogate children and family. Losing them is devastating and hard to endure. But, in time, you will come to realise you did your best for him ... and you'll remember all the happier times you both shared.

Stay strong.
