What is going on with all these groomers dont like it.Do what i do get your own dog clippers prob solved lot cheaper too.You can watch Vidio's online on how to do it.
my dogs are so big and hairy I have to use horse clippers.
This happened to my dog for first time, picked her up from groomers & both her eyes were terribly bloodshot. The groomer pretended she hadn't noticed & even suggested she was like that when I took her in & perhaps it was a food allergy. I asked her was she hurt or could it be that some product went in her eyes & she got irritated? The groomer was non-committal, then casually said Oh I have changed my brand of shampoo & some dogs eyes have gotten bit red. How could you not notice they were scaringly bloodshot red!! I took my dog to vet, who reassured me she was fine, but yes, it would be an irritation caused either from shampoo or even the hot air from the blow dryer. The vet said just leave it alone it will subside by itself. I won't be using that dog groomer again.
Just like they had said above it could be due to them putting a lead on him and maybe he was trying to get lose or fell out of the tub...Which happens more than what people know. Some groomers use a break away collar,That way if they do jump out of the tub it wont hurt them,But i am not sure what the groomer used on him.Sometimes shampoos can cause the eyes to get irriatated,You could could try some artificial tears and see if that might help.If they still look like that tomorrow i would have your vet check him.Does his neck have any places on them? Please keep us posted on how your baby is doing.Take care and God Bless
Is it possible the eyes got irritated from the dryer they use? Let us know what the vet says, or if they get better on their own?
I just picked up my 7 months old dog from PETCO groomers and his eyes are swollen and he has bloodshot on both eyes. I noticed and told the girl why my dog's eyes were like that. She pretended not to have noticed it and then she said that it might have been because he was nervous. I am very concerned now and will probably have to take him to the vet just to make sure he's OK. I thought PETCO was better than that, I am very disappointed and sad to learned they let me and my dog down.
Just want to let all of you know, I just pick up my 2years old shicon from petsmart and I noticed, my dog has bloodshot. And this has never happened before. It make me will not bring my dog there again.
Second thought, I wonder if it might be an allergy to the shampoo, or whatever they may have used you on her.
It definitely sounds to me like it was something done at the groomers. And I agree with the restraining/choking possibility.
What did the vet say? I hope you didn't pay for the vet visit!
