Just wondering if any more puppies had been adopted. Please keep us posted.
I too would like a few minutes alone with people who mistreat animals. Argh!
They do look like aussies
But they also look like they could be a Border Colley, Bouvier Bernois Mix...
Gosh are they ever cute...
awwww, i want one... but i have no room for another =(
They do look an awful lot like Aussies.
I thought at first glance they had docked tails, too!
I didn't look.......I'm sure they're very cute and I would probably want one. LOL
AJ, you have the biggest doggie HEART!
Good luck with finding them ALL a home! You have your work cut out for you.
Ghilly, they all have their tails. :-) None have been docked.
They look like Aussies, Peek! Someone dumped a whole litter!?!? What is WRONG with people? That one shot of the tri-colored puppy where the puppy is standing up - that puppy looks like he has a docked tail! Either it's an Aussie with a natural dock or someone took the time and spend the money to have their tails docked and then dumped them? It makes no sense!
Just for the heck of it, have you checked the Lost and Found to see if anyone has reported them missing? The reason I ask is because about 25 years ago we got a litter of Aussies into our rescue that a woman turned in saying that she had found the puppies wandering around on her property and had no idea where they had come from. About a week later a man called to say that his dog had had a litter of puppies, and when he came home from work one day they were gone from the kennel in the back yard. He couldn't figure out how they had gotten out, because the kennel had a lock on it, although the top of the kennel was open, but it was 8 feet high so he doubted that they had climbed out at 7 weeks of age. Well, it turned out that he and his wife were getting a divorce, and she wanted to hit him where it would hurt, so she took the litter of puppies that his dog had had and she turned them in to the shelter saying that they were strays. They were purebred Australian Shepherds and it had been a planned breeding!
People can be very vindictive and can and will do horrible things to others, and they don't care that they involve other lives in the process. Is it possible that these little guys could have been taken from somewhere and dumped? They sure are adorable, and if I could have another dog I would give one of them a home. Sometimes I think I would just like 10 minutes alone with someone who could do that to a dog, but then that wouldn't work because I would just end up in jail.
Ghilly
Thanks so much, Jaybay!
And good news! I just got off the phone with a lady who is going to adopt one of the puppies tomorrow! I talked with her for a good while to make sure I got the right vibes from her, and I know she and her family are going to be a wonderful home for a very fortunate puppy. Yay!
One down, six to go...
Hey AJ! I don't know where you live, but my cousin is President of the West Tennessee Animal Coalition and that group may be able to help. These are individuals in rural areas who deal with the animal-dumping problem on a daily basis. They formed an organization in an attempt to find homes for all the animals who are constantly dumped on their doorsteps. My cousin Kathy was Secretary of her local Humane Society for many years until health problems forced her into retirement. Here's a link to their Yahoo group:

Not sure yet. I know we're going to keep them at my mom's farm until next weekend (Feb 7-8), and in the meantime try to find them homes or get them to shelters. My mom can't keep them long because of her health issues.
I know for sure, though, that I'm not letting these pups go to just anyone; I will not give them to anyone who does not agree to spay/neuter them or believes that dogs don't need to be treated for flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Many people here in the south just don't do that for their dogs. That's why we have the problem with so many strays and road kill of dogs and cats, and puppies and kittens being dumped on rural roadsides. It's absolutely infuriating.
Most of the shelters in the local area here are full.
Sabrina, the puppies are not at her house...she can't keep them where she lives. She's in acritical time crunch to find them homes.
This makes me so mad. I can't believe someone just dumped 7 puppies by the side of the road. Now I'm fuming!
I hope you find good homes for those puppies. Do you plan on keeping them all until people adopt them?
Try this one--this is direct access to the album of all the pups!
Thanks, Peek!
