Dog shaking his head and ears after cliping

I have 4 years old Chinese crested dog. Yesterday I cut the short hair of his ears with scissors . I think that some of the cut hair fell into his ear canal. Now he won't stop shaking his head and his ears, which I know is a serious symptom and probably have to take him to the vet. But just wondering if he needs to go under general anesthetic in order for the vet to get this cut hair out of his ear canals? Or can I do something myself instead to fix that?

You have to be very careful with a Dog's ears.  The hair inside the eats is often plucked or trimmed with blunt tip scissors.  You really need to know the proper way to do this.  I'm afraid if you tried a wash and there is hair inside, it just may go further down.  I don't suggest trying to use anything like a Q-tip or tweezers either.  Your best bet is probably to have your Vet check it to make sure there isn't something else going on.
Unless they are used to it, most dogs don't like their ears messed with, especially if they are irritated.  Your Vet and a tech may certainly be able to do this without anesthetic, assuming the Vet can determine the problem.  Crested s are small, wiiry dogs so they may use a muzzle and some muscle for an exam.  It is often better if "mom or dad" are not present.
Sorry, can't suggest much else but you sure don't want an infection.  Maybe he will shake it out.

Have you tried to flush his ears with a dog ear cleaning solution?  That's where I
d start.

For my part I can't understand how the dog would get hair stuck in interior of his hear(s).  But I don't know  the bread and have no idea what the ears/hair is like.
