Dogs and Seizers

Help!  Beautiful, Smart, Blue Tic Hound that is suffering from seizers.  He is on Phenobarbotal, it doesn't work all the time.  He had 4 grand Mall's two days ago and his behavior is now very weird.  Could he have suffered brain damage?  He is 7 years old and this is his only health problem.  Ruled out all others with blood tests.  So scared we will have to put him down now, is there any help for him?

Behavior:  Pacing, leaving boundries set and kept for 7 years, can't be left alone he freaks, seems scared of us when we do things like give him his water and food, he stands back, he never did this before.  He is not scared of us at any other time except when we give him his meds, he is very leary them.  He want's all of us with him and is upset if one of us is missing.   Just really weird behavior.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Yes, and even repetitive seizures can cause damage. You need to take the dog to the vet and get a general panel done as well, checking liver enzymes, electrolytes with glucose and a cbc.

Cluster-seizures, or a seizure that does not stop can cause brain damage.  See your vet right away, maybe checking his phenobarb levels and having a glucose curve done will shed some light on what's up with your dog.
