So she was bred(?) or do you know for sure? Dogs go into
labor usually from 61 to 63 days when the breeding took,
you didn't say how old she is or what breed of dog?
From what you are saying, restless, digging in the soil, she
is whining I'd tend to make a wild guess the breeding did
in fact take and she is in labor.
You need to get her out of the dirt ( she may be trying to
make a bed to deliver puppies) and should NOT deliver
them in dirt, not too clean or safe for her or the pups. She
may be whining because she's in labor and sometimes it
can hurt a first time mother or even a dog who is very
sensitive, like with people it hurts some more than others
... just my thoughts...
Jan
she had went for mating on 27/12/2015.
and she is very restless, digging in the soil and resting at there.
sometimes she is whining
Any GREEN discharge from any orifice of the body is NOT normal....It indicates infection!!! I would have to believe that because it's coming from the Vagina, her puppies are in trouble (As in Infected or will be), also....
I'm a advocate AGAINST Breeding so I know nothing about the stages of Canine Pregnancy...However I do have some suggestions:
1. Some Vets take a card called "Care Credit". You can apply online....It's a credit card used specifically for Human or Animal Health Care.....It works like any other Credit Card as you pay with the card & pay the card company back....It does have a low/fair interest rate...I do not know how long it takes to get one...Your dog may not have enough time!
2. Call your local SPCA or Humane Society and see if they offer a low income Vet service....They may can give you some suggestions as to where to go...
3. You could relinquish your girl over to the Humane Society....Make sure they are a NO Kill Shelter....They would provide her the medical care that she & the babies need...They also would have a good chance of finding homes for mom & kids....
4. Get off your computer & go pawn it at your local pawn shop....Cancel your Internet Service and get the money to help your dog!!!!
I personally think you already have an Emergency on your hands.....I hope you find a way to get her the medical attention that she's depending on you for.......Good luck, I do hope it all turns out.....Karla
If you can't afford to take your dog to the vet in an emergency, why did you let her get pregnant? What are you going to do if something goes wrong during delivery, or if something is wrong with a puppy? Definately work on a way to come up with some money in case things get worse.
Or, meant to add that if she is at or near her due date, she may be starting labor.
How far along is she in the pregnancy, or do you know? A discharge that color can be a sign of a few things and she should be checked by a Vet.
I'm sorry, but if someone is going to own a dog and breed it, they should be prepared for possible complications. That could be an infection, detached placenta, etc.
If you know how to take a dog's temp, please do so. If it is near or over 103, she needs to get checked.
If this was immediately after birth and even for some days afterwards (when a dark-ish discharge, sometimes greenish is often noticed) -then it would be quite normal. However this does not sound normal during pregnancy. A green discharge could signify that something is not right. Possibly there is an infection.
I am sorry, but I think it would be wise to take her to the vet. Is there any possible way you could beg or borrow the money to do that? Is there a friend or relative who might lend you that money if you paid them back so much a week? Or have you got a bank overdraft facility? Or could you do it on credit card?
Even during times I had very very little money to survive on each week, with my bank there was always the option of an overdraft, and in my case it was £500, and then later £1000 (I know that's UK and it may be very different where you live -but just a thought) But I always knew if there was a dire emergency I could fall back on that.
If you know your vet well, and he/she trusts you, they may agree to weekly payments. It is definitely worth asking. Don't ask the receptionist! Ask the vet.
