Sick dog

Hi guys, this morning i woke up to find my dog wasnt himself. He was acting more sleepish than usual, and had vomited and pooed near where he sleeps the night before. I kept a close eye on him all day. All he did was sleep and lay around (which isnt very unusual). He went and hid under the bed a few times, but i would call him and he would come out with his tail wagging. I later went down stairs to see how active he was, and while he didnt chase after any tennis balls (he usually does) he did play tug-a-war. When i went to give him his dinner, he ate it as fast as he usually would, and i took him outside many times today so he could have a drink (which he did). The reason i didn't let him outside today because we have just sprayed along our fence ling with some poision. I think that may be what has made him sick. I also think it may have something to do with the 2 new dogs next door. He doesn't seem too bad, but i worry alot. If anyone has any idea what is wrong, i would appreciate your opinion.

Ps, like i said before, he still eats, drinks, and is some what active, but hes not himself, hes been like this all day.

The water source was from his water dish. We live in a 2 level house and his dish is upstairs on the balcony so its fine. There is a bug going around and several dogs in my town have gotten sick from it so we decided we may take him to the vet if he isn't any better by tomorrow. Unfortunently my mum hosed out his poop this morning so i'll take a sample if it happens again (if i can)  . We took him to the vet a few days ago because he had lost some hair on his rump by the time we picked him up from the boarding kennels after christmas. The vet said it may have been caused by chemical burn, so i don't think that is related to what is going on now. Still i'll keep an eye on him tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply

You need to find out what the chemical ingredients are in the spray you used, and call poison control, (if you are in U.S.) and your vet for advice.
You say you took him outside so he could get a drink...? Does that mean he is used to drinking from some outside water source? Something could have got into that.

I know it may sound gross, but save samples of his poop and vomit if at all possible. It will maybe save time finding out what might be wrong with him.
This may not necessarily be poisoning. He may have picked up a parasite or something. Best plan -take him to be checked by the vet (even if he seems to get a little better in the meantime, still take him)
