Hello & welcome....
She needs to see her Vet for a skin culture.....From what you describe, it sounds like a yeast infection of the skin......The smell is pretty classic!
The Vet will treat with medicated shampoos & possibly oral mediction......
A grain free diet is a must for Yeast, as Carbohydrates make it worse.....If she's not eating a High quality, (Not purchased at a grocery store or discount center) grain free diet, she would benefit from one....
Once she is treated by your Vet, this can be controlled w/diet....Good luck & come back with updates.......Karla
Make sure she is getting the best-quality food, or even home-cooked food, and plenty of water. Lots of time outdoors in clean grassy places. Don't bathe her more than once a week (yes I know that sounds strange if she smells so bad, but bathing strips the natural oils which are protective) Don't use any harsh chemicals, detergents or deodorants on her. A trip to the vet might be a good idea to eliminate any possible health problems she could have. A blood sample should give a good idea how her organs are functioning. (kidneys, liver, etc)
If she has irritated skin it could be allergy to household cleaning products as well. Or it could be a fungal infection. In which case the vet could prescribe something to help.
