Frontline or K9 advantange is the best. I would treat any pet for fleas, remove them from the house and flea bomb inside areas. There is also a pill that the vet can give that will kill fleas immediately.
There really is no easy way to get rid of fleas. Fleas are a true nuisance to pet owners and their pets and if allowed to go on unchecked they can cause a multitude of health problems for dogs and cats and, depending on how heavy the infestation is, they can even kill them by literally draining them of their blood. As with any health threat, the very young, very old and the sick are especially vulnerable.
The best way to get rid of them is to purchase a SAFE product, preferrably one that has been recommended by your vet, to treat your pet. Do NOT purchase flea and tick treatments from grocery stores, those products simply are NOT SAFE for your pets. The three main companies to avoid are Hartz Mountain, Sargents and Zodiac. Products from these companies have sickened or killed many pets in recent years and the FDA has even demanded the removal of many of these companies' products from the market. Safe treatments available from your vet include FrontLine and Advantage, but there are others that your vet may recommend.
To completely get rid of fleas though, you cannot simply treat your pet(s). You must also treat your home and yard because even though the good, safe products will kill fleas, in order for them to do so they must first bite your pet. You need to spray your home and thoroughly wash your pet's bedding, You also need to spray the yard where your pet goes outside to go to the bathroom. Once you get all these areas AND your pet treated, you will be flea free. Again, your vet can recommend good, safe, effective flea oreparations.for you to use for all three areas - your pets, your home and your yard.
