Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am from the city of Taj Mahal, Agra (India). My 7years old D.I.dog has been suffering from high fever 104-105 F, from mid of April 2010. My Vet administered him paracitamol till a week but remained ineffective. Then he got some tests at human pathology haemoglobin,TLC,DLC Platelet counts were normal on 29/4/2010. Again  in tests on 14/5/2010 his platelet counts were 1,20,000/cumm., Neutrofil 88 %, Potasium(K+) 3.50 mEq/l, Albumin(A) 3.52 gm/dl, A/G Ratio 1:1, Alk, Phosphatase 193.4 IU/L, Vet again administered him paracitamol for one week fever reduces 104-105 F to 102-103 F.But not normal having some ups & downs between 102-103. When medicine stopped it raised in between 103-104 F till date.
Sometimes blood in stool is also monitored and dog feel dfficulty during stool & some abdominal pain from six months.
The dog has been aleady suffering from Diebities Insipidus & a human urologist has administered him hydrochlorothizide 12.5 mg  & desmopression 0.2 mg morn & eve daily. Prior to the administration the D.I. medicine, the dog was drinking 10-12 letrs fluids daily. Now he is drinking 3-4 letres daily.
Are these the side effects of medicines or due to DI problems any body part of the dog is damaging. His creatnine was 0.6 & BUN was 7.8 mg/dl on 17/3/2010 & ceatinine was again 6.0 mg/dl on 29/4/2010.
Please help me in understanding the reasons of prolonged fever.

Hello,
I am sorry your dog is sick for so long with this fever. I am sorry, but I do not know what could be the matter with him. I suggest that you post your question on the "Ask a Vet Expert Forum" There are qualified veterinarians who will be able to give you answers.

To get to this forum, scroll down the page here, and on the right you will see, under "RELATED EXPERT FORUMS"....."Animal Health General" Click on that, and you will get through to ask the vets.
Good luck, I hope you find the solution.
