funny leg feeling

I have a problem that comes and goes, some days I have it some days not. It has to do with an uneasy feeling I have with my left leg. About one week before Christmas, I began to have this sensation that my left leg was wobbly or uncoordinated. It wasn't numb or weak, just weird feeling. I had been diagnosed with bpv about a month prior to this. nI went to a physical therapist who performed the repositioning movements. But it stll still comes and goes. On most mornings its ok when I wake up and then as the day progresses it manifests itself. I does seem to be worse with stress or maybe caused by it. I have had a negative mri with contrast. I still get dizzy on and off as well. What's up?

I can identify with "weird leg" feelings and dizziness, I've had both. My left leg used to get a distinct "weak/heavy" sensation and it would feel like I wouldn't be able to walk or push down the clutch or whatever--but it wasn't actually weak, I could actually do stuff with it. Same thing would happen to my left arm.

The weirder thing was when I had some short episodes of feeling like my legs were tree trunks. They weren't numb, stiff, or paralyzed--they just somehow FELT different on my body, not like my legs at all.

ARe you sure it's BPPV? Have you seen a dizziness specialist (otologist/neurotologist, or neurologist with extra training in the inner ear)?

The dizziness-specialist neurologist that I saw first told me MS (even though I'd already had a normal MRI), then backed off from that. I did have some other weird symptoms too, mostly sensory. My MRI actually showed small spots, but the nonspecific kind that could be due to many things, such as migraines, or perivascular spaces.

If your symptoms don't go away, see a neurologist if you haven't already. Preferably one specializing in dizziness. There aren't many of these, but ask your ENT or check out www.robbmd.com and click on "Otoneurologists in the USA." However, they can't always figure these things out. I remain undiagnosed 8 years after my symptoms started (and have been painted as a hypochondriac by some doctors--that's their answer when you have "too many" symptoms).

Good luck!

I went to a hearing center that specializes in this. They tested me because I had been having vertigo symptoms but only while lying down and turning my head to the right. They said suspected I had dislodged otoconia somehow. I do have a appt with an neuro in Feb. I'm not really concerned with ms or other since there is no weakness or numbness and the symptoms come and go, some days not at all. Thanks-------they call me crazy too(lol)
