ear smells

my son is 10 years old and has gone through 6 sets of tubes. Although they have helped w/ infections they havent stopped them completely. He has had his adnoids removed, however he gets a very strong odor from his ear. It is to the point that one cant stand it. his ears still drain which the doctor says is good. From the time he was a baby he drooled, never really thought anything of it as a child but I did notice he cant ever breath through his nose. Should I go to another doctor. I really like the ear, nose  and throat doc but things havent gotten better in 10 years please advise what to
do . They keep telling me he will out grow it

I realize that the stink is a sign of infection and we have been giving him med. to fight that along with ear drops. However it seems to come back right away. He had has been on meds most of his child hood life. Is there anything else we can try to help him have a better quality of life. I have allergies and wasnt sure if it had anything to do with his ear problems and the drainage. He speeks loud at times and cant breath through his nose. This doesnt seem normal. Not sure what to do. We love our ent .
And the smell, well the best way to describe that would be like a uncleaned fish bowl...... Its really bad, Im concerned with the health part and also socializing with others in school, being in 5th grade and the children teasing him because of the smell. Its aweful......

ear snell?

That is the tittle but know mention of it?  But if your son does have stinky ear, much like that of really bad foot odor, if not worse, that is a sign of infection.

Most kids out grow ear issues at around 11 years old. If he is 10 now... it does not seem like he is on a good path at the moment.
