Chronic Sinus infections/Allergies

I had a doctor about 20 years ago that used to give me antibiotics every time I had a sinus infection. For about a year he was treating my sinus infections with multiples antibiotics, and the whole time it was allergies.
Since I change doctors I have become immune to many antibiotics and it is hard for doctor to treat me for infections.

Question is what do you think can be done and what I can do about stopping Allegra D; if I do I will have a sinus infection within one week or less. I have been on Allegra D all year round for about 4-5 years. Also just in the past 7 months I have been experiencing an awful metallic/chemical smell in my sinus, once in awhile, some days I do not smell it.

Pharmacist is assuming it is from Metformin, yes it started after taking them, but I would assume it would be more often then what I smell; the “PATIENT EDUCATION INFORMATION” says you may taste like metallic. I do not taste it just smell something briefly, when I deeply inhale sometimes after eating too.

I have also have had high white count for many years, about 15 years. Can you please tell me if you have had a patient with chronic since infections? And what you did for them?

THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!

I have been using the neti pot since you mentioned this. I have done something similar to this, years ago and it did not help me.

Bought the pot and solution kit at Wal-Mart.

Working good so far.

Thanks again for the relief.

No, I can not say I ever heard of these methods.

Where would I get this or these things you have mentioned??

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried using a neti pot or other sinus irrigation technique?  I have had sinus problems since childhood and whenever I start to get the headaches, I use my neti pot.  It has helped greatly.
