Dizziness/loss of balance

Hi there. I was on holiday in Cornwall last week and me and the family were walking across this huge beach back from the waters edge to the shops half a mile away. In the middle of the beach, it got wet and wild and stormy and after a short while, I noticed that I was feeling disorientated and my balance was going. I had to sit down on a nearby rock in the pouring rain for a while to pull myself together. I have noticed this before when it gets windy and I am out in it for a length of time. I start to feel lightheaded and my balance goes.

Has anyone got any ideas as to why this is. I have noticed it before though not recently.

Hi Thanks for your messages. Another thing struck me with this dizziness when its very windy. Well it made me wonder if I was hyperventilating because the wind was "taking my breath away" if you know what I mean. And I was trying to overcompensate. Yes I eat often and it wasn't a hot day, that day. I have no known allergies and this ONLY happens when its very windy outside. Makes no difference wether its winter or summer. It does not happen often as I am not normally out in such weather. It was only because we were on a huge beach and got caught in the middle of it. Thanks again for your replies.

it could be mild asthma, it could be low blood sugar, are u eating regularly?  it could be mild heat exhaustion, r u where it is ofter hot? it could be mild allergies that only bother you when the wind stir them allergens up, pay attention to the circumstances that it happens under, keep a journal if u can, that may be the only way to know for sure.
good luck

Balance is an act maintained by the inputs from eyes, touch and ears (precisely the innermost part of the ear which cannot be seen). For a complete evaluation you would require an indepth analysis of your problem through your history and complete check up by internal medicine specialist, eye specialist,ENT specialist and orthopedician and maybe a neurologist too.Virtual analysis of the problem has grave restrictions, especially in such cases. So make the visit fast - a stitch in time saves nine!
