I'm 37 days post-tonsillectomy and still have pain/lumps where tonsils were??

Hi everyone, I had a tonsillectomy 37 days ago and I'm wondering if this pain/appearance of my throat is normal. I still have some yellow and white lines that look like they may be the stitches. The scabs seem to have all come off a while ago. I still have a decent sore throat and each side looks almost like there are little tonsils on either side. Should it be smooth by now? My doctor set me up for an appointment for next month in case I'm not better and thought I was silly for thinking they were growing back. I'm wondering if anyone else had this same experience so long after surgery? I have no signs of infection like fever or anything but I'm still worried. Someone help ease my anxiety please. I'm praying they're not growing back or infected. Thank you!!
