Infected tonsils after oral

My boyfriend performed oral sex on me and like a month later he told me that he's tonsils got infected after he performed oral on me, I do not know what it is, I'm confused, I'm scared it might be an STD but my ex performance oral on me and he is perfectly fine & I'm perfectly fine but y ex doesn't have tonsils so I do not know what is going on, please help

If you are STD free, then this can't be any STD from you.  

Is he only having sex with you?

Infected tonsils don't have to be related to an STD.
