what is this lump under my ear and what should I do now?

I've had a lump right under my ear for over 4 weeks now.  I have taken two different antibiotics that have not helped.  The lump occasionally reduces in size but never goes entirely away since it occurred.  When it is enlarged it is painful.  Just today it seems like it doubled in size and more painful.  My primary physician said it must be a viral infection since neither antibiotics helped and told me to drink lots of water and take vitamin C. I have and that is not helping either. I am 47 years old.  I don't know what to do now. Perhaps second doctor opinion.
