Everything I eat tastes like coffee

2 months ago I had a severe sinus infection in my right sinus, and was on antibiotics. I noticed my sense of taste and smell went away, but when it came back everything I eat or smell, smells like coffee. 1 month ago I had to have the 3 upper molars on my right side pulled (which were contributing to my sinus problems), and I was on antibiotics for that, as well as not being able to chew on that side. Is this coffee taste for everything a temporary thing, or should I consult an ENT?

Hi, any infection or blockage in your nose can cause you to smell something that is not there. The sinus infection could be contributing to this. Once this has resolved, your sensation of smell and taste should be restored. I certainly think seeing an ENT is a good idea. Infected tooth roots from the upper teeth can go inside the maxillary sinus and cause sinusitis.  You might need a CT of the sinuses for more information. However, if you do have an infected tooth, you will still need to have this addressed as dental infections can be potentially life-threatening. Regards.
