muffled sound on one ear

I had a mild pain on my ear 5 days ago and the doctor prescribe kenacomb otic. after using it for two day i notice that my hearing on one ear became muffled. i went back to see anothe doctore and prescribe sofradex ear drops and advice me to stop using kenacomb otic. it is now day 5 and my hearing on one ear is still muffled. I can hear normally when i use the phone on that ear but it is just the annoying muffled sound that is persistent. can you please help me. what can i do to stop the muffled sound in my ear?

I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM AS EVIE25. HAD BURNING IN MY EARS AND DR TOLD ME I HAD A BLOCKED EAR CANAL FROM SINUS IN THE ONE EAR AND THRUSH IN THE OTHER EAR AND PRESCRIBED KENACOMB OPTIC AFTER 2 DAYS I HAVE THE SAME MUFFLED SOUND IN MY RIGHT EAR AND ITS GETTING WORSE AND BOTH MY EARS ARE IN PAIN. GOT GIVEN NASONEX NASAL SPRAY TO CAUSE  APPARENTLY I HAVE A Sinus abnormality anc sinus infection. I live in the outback so have no access to a ear specialist. Please help.

Well the key to the correct diagnosis here is having someone who looks at a lot of ears examine yours.  When you have 2 different doctors prescribe 2 different medications for your problem and you have no improvement, one has to wonder.  I see a lot of people who were incorrectly told that they have fluid in their middle ear, when they have none and people who are told they have an outer ear problem and prescribed drops, when in reality they have a middle ear problem where drops have no chance of helping.  The best advice is to have an Otolaryngologist take a look at you.
