what is causing my neck problem.

I have had pain in both sides of my neck for 10 weeks.initially i had a little pain for 7 weeks above my left collar bone but now for the last 3 weeks, the pain is now on both sides of neck at my gland area. i also have a pain down my left side of neck, I  also have itching and redness at front of neck. I also feel as if i have a lump at base of neck all the time not only when I swallow. i had a blood test and the doctor said i did not have an infection as my white blood cell count is ok. i am waiting to go in for a ct scan but ia a bit anxious as i had cancer 7 years ago .
