Smoke smell

Last Oct mold was discovered in my heater and under the house. Took care of this. I could smell a horrible musty odor and made it hard for me to breathe like heavy air. Ever since I have constant bad smells. And even smokey odors in my house. No one else smells it and usually it is in my own home. At times it's like chemicals too. My husband thinks I am nuts. What is causing me to be so sensitive to lots of odors????? Even feel like I am tasting chemicals and breathing smoke very heavily. Very upsetting. Dr checked out my sinus..nothing. Ask family Dr and he said I am just sensitive todifferent things. Hormones have really changed too so maybe this is it?? I need some answers OR my house is making me ill. Getting depressed.I also been taking Lunesta for over a year since I don't sleep well. Can anyone help me??

Using Patanase and drinking more water. The smoke odor has gotten better! And my nasal congestion also is better. Never experienced the smell of smoke before. Will keep you informed of any changes.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

Your symptoms could be due to olfactory hallucinations. Phantosmia most often occurs as a result of a head injury or upper respiratory infection. It can also be caused by temporal lobe seizures, sinusitis, brain tumors, migraine, Parkinson's disease and stroke. You may need proper evaluation by your GP, please consult him for a neurological assessment. He may then refer you to a neurologist if needed.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
