Hi,

I have gone through the x-ray, there is a small globular swelling the floor of left maxillary sinus. This is probably a polyp secondary to the allergic problem you are having. No need to worry as this is a small polyp which will not trouble you. Continue the nasal spray, antihistaminics and steam inhalation. Any more doubts you are welcome.

And yes - the X-ray is recent - from 19.01.2011 - three days ago.

Thank you very much! What steps should I take to prevent allergic rhinitis and how long should I continue to use antihistaminics ? Can I use Citrocept (grapefruit) or any homeopathics - do you think they do any good ? I read about Citrocept is a very good imuno stimulant and very good for allergy - what do you think ?

Hi,

Do not feel sorry, mistakes are bound to happen and after all we are humans. Let me make things clear for you. Your main problem is allergic rhinitis, which does not have cure but if appropriate steps are taken it can be prevented. Secondly, because of your allergic problems it can lead to sinusitis. But according to your x-ray if it is a recent one), there is no sinusitis seen but only a small polyp on the floor of left maxillary sinus. This can eventually be treated with the medicines I mentioned in my previous post. Myself being an ENT surgeon, I would not advice surgery for my patient.

All the best.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.
I was prescribed corticosteroid therapy, some nasal sprays, lots of pills and than endoscopic operation of the cyst. I have lots of doubts about my doctor and you confirmed them. I think I will stick with antihistaminics - I already used Zodac and this medicaments prove to be perfect for me, using it for two or three days clear my nose and I breath clearly.

I what is your opinion about the possible diagnosis of sinosis. Can you conclude from my X-ray such a diagnosis, is it possible or it is a allergy. I understand that you already stated that this is a allergy but Is there a possibility this can be a sinosis. I have no yellow, white or brown secretion - as is one of the symphtons of the sinosis. What do you think?

Thank you in advance.
