Throat still has pale areas remaining after sore throat

I had a sore throat 3-4 weeks ago. My throat was really red with long white patches. The sore throat is gone, yet I still have the pale patches. My doctor looked at my throat today and said she had never seen this before. She even tried to scrap it and it didn't come off.  She said it looks like there isn't any blood going to the area.  It doesn't hurt.
It just looks odd.  I don't have me tonsils any more either.  Any ideas?

Thank you. I do not have tonsils anymore and I do haven't had the sore throat since early last month. I just have drainage. It's strange.

Hi there,
A complete throat examination is necessary for determining the correct cause of your symptoms. White patches on the throat could be seen in mean strep throat or tonsillitis. Simple viruses and allergies are also likely to cause sore throat. If you are not having symptoms I will advise you to wait and watch. It may be possible that these changes in color of mucous membrane may take time to change. In case of more queries and assistance it is suggested to visit a doctor. I hope it helps.
Best luck and regards!
