chronic sinus infection

I have had a sinus infection for 9 months and on my third antibiotic treatment as well as a root canal. I am 6 days into my 875 mg amoxicillin treatment and am extremely tired and have serious pain in my knees and ankles. I don't know if these symptoms are due to the antibiotics or the infection and I'm worried.

A sinus infection due to a tooth infection is usually in the maxillary sinues, so a Neilmed Sinus Rinse is probably best for you--available at drugstores for about $13

I actually saw the dentist because of an abcess on the root of a tooth  He did a root canal and two days later I had a full blown infection with fever.  I went to the family doctor who put me on antibiotics for the third time only he increased the dosage.  I just finished the last coarse toay but still have drainage.  I'm worried that I will do OK for a while and end up with a full blown infection again.  I will let you know what happens.  I have been flushing my sinus' every day.

Often when you take antibiotics, the drugs kill bacteria and the dead bacteria release toxins, which make you feel worse before you feel better.  Also, antibiotics often don't work in sinus infections, because the infection model is different than the model for infected tissues, according to Mayo Clinic research.  The Sinus Flush I developed removes the mass of infected mucus.   If you try it, remain on the antibiotics, as they will help.

The Flip-Turn Sinus Flush is mildly risky, because you have to bend over to do it, preferably in a shower, but you can also do it outside on soft ground, or you can kneel down and lean over a bathtub with the shower running.

As Londres says, you should see an ENT to make sure you don't have a physical anomaly that is causing the chronics.

In my opinion, the tiredness is probably related to this persistent infection and the anitbiotic.

Are you following up with an ENT Specialist and/or an Allergist for this chronic/persistent sinus infection?   This problem could also be allergy-related.

The tiredness started after the amoxicillin.  I think the leg pain may be unrelated as that started before the amoxicillin.

Did the tiredness and pain in your knees and ankles start AFTER taking the Amoxicillin or have you had this before?
