Endometriosis

I recently went to my GYNO, I have several polyps on my cervix. And I'm having surgery in a week to remove my left ovary, my doctor couldn't find my left ovary and he seems to think it is covered with endometriosis, could this possibly be cancer?

It could be adhesions or Endo but it could be a variety of things. Polyps can be cancerous but its low. Do you have any cysts? I wouldn't worry about the cancer because it will only make you crazy. Have them remove the polyps they will do a biopsy to check but most likely it will not be cancerous.

Endometriosis can't be seen on MRI or CT unless you have deep lesions or an Endometrioma (blood filled cyst) The only way to find out is through exploratory laparoscopic surgery

Hi Ticked, thank you for replying. I don't have any cysts. My doctor seems to think my ovary could be embedded in my pelvic wall. I will know for sure when he does my surgery. Thank you for the information. I am new to this, I hadn't been to a gyno in 10 years until the other day, and I was 25 years old then. It's good to know that the polyps have a low risk of being cancerous, it has been making me crazy. I'm trying not to worry.
