Newly Diagnosed Mild Endo.

I am 22yrs old and just had a D&C, hysteroscopy, and laproscopy done this morning. I had cysts in high school and was put on BCP to control that. This was successful for many many years. However , over the past year or so I have slowly been having more pain and problems. I would have severe pelvic pain where I could not get out of bed, heavy heavy bleeding, frequent bleeding (about 3 weeks out of a month), weight gain and cant lose, acne, mood swings, irritability, headache, hot flashes. The whole shebang. So my dr did the surgery this morning and diagnosed me with MILD endometriosis. He did not laser the endo because he said the scar tissue causes more problems than the endo.

Just wondering what other peoples experiences have been with this. How to control the symptoms?
I want to lose the excess weight gain- have tried diet and excercise
Be able to decrease the pain and feel better.

Thanks

If your doctor is not a reproductive endocrinologist, get a second opinion from one, endo is their specialty. You can go to the endometriosis association website at http://www.endometriosisassn.org/ and then get their contact number to call them and find a good reproductive endocrinologist near you. Also they usaully specialize with using the laser.

When you were on the BCP were you on it continuously?  That makes a difference.

You might want to get a second opinion from a different GYNO willing to remove the endo. I wouldnt have it lasered I would have it excised (sp?)  That is when they cut it out rather than laser it out which is said to be better and will take longer for the endo to grow back.

I also had a presacral neurectomy done as well, where they sever the nerves in your uterus to lessen the pain.  I am not sure if this helped as i have been on the bcp continuously and I dont get a period or pain
