Hi,
In most cases epilepsy is not inherited. The tendency towards Epilepsy might be inherited, but certain conditions must exist in the brain before a person will experience epileptic seizures. It is most unlikely that children will inherit the disorder.
As i understand, your son is also having headaches and had a previous episode of nose bleed which also what started your epileptic attacks when you were at his age? Epilepsy can be the result of an infection or disease. Some conditions known to have a risk of resulting in Epilepsy are meningitis, viral encephalitis, and less frequently mumps, measles, diphtheria, and abscesses. In some cases, epileptic seizures can be triggered by things that happen in the environment.
Without the symptoms of epilepsy, we can not say that your son is and will have the same condition as you were. It is important that you watch out for these symptoms and to bring him to your doctor for evaluation.
Take care and regards.
