test results

I recently had a test and EBV Ab VCA, IgG was above 2000. Does anyone know what this means?

I just posted this in response to another person's questions. But, I will repost in response to your question in case you don't "enter" the other.

My latest EBV results:

Early Antigen Ab,IgG  300 (climbing from 142 1.5 yrs ago)
Ab VCa IgG          3462 (up from 2761 1.5 yrs ago)(had gone down once)
Nuclear Ab IgG      2326 (up from 1114 1.5 yrs ago)(had gone down twice)

Some labs use 0-.9 as a scale.

Anyone have elevated Neutrophilis count on their blood test when their EBV numbers are high?  Mine are up for the first time since this whole thing started.

Having reported all these terrible numbers, let me encourage others by saying that I can "create" a good day by pacing myself and focusing on remaining quiet and calm. I have also found that the more time I spend on the computer, on the phone,  or watching TV makes my fatigue worse.  Cool, calm and breathing deep.

Unfortunately, I don't believe physicians have a guide to interpret EBV titers. = (

The lab that did your sister's testing must have used a different method of testing.

These are the labs that many CFS patients are failing. I compiled this information and posted it on my website because I couldn't find all of this on just one website. Its a shame that the CDC hasn't done more for CFS patients:

██ T3 REVERSE -- "The mix of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. There are some abnormalities that are common. For instance, close to 100% of individuals with these syndromes have low thyroid. This is, however, usually not picked up on the standard blood tests because the TSH is not elevated in these individuals due to pituitary dysfunction. Many of these individuals will also have high levels of the anti-thyroid reverse T3, which is usually not measured on standard blood tests. In addition, the majority of individuals can also have a thyroid receptor resistance that is not detected on the blood tests. Consequently, thyroid treatment, especially with timed release T3, is effective for many patients. T4 preparations (inactive thyroid) such as Synthroid and Levoxyl do not work well for these conditions."

Hi again, PlatelletGal.  The web site is wonderful forthe "+" and "-" interperation. However, not for the numbers themselves.  Do you know of resource for interperting the number values?

Odd, but my sister's EBV test results uses a different number ing (value) system than mine does. Our Doctor's used different labs in different states.

This link should be able to help you interpret your results:
