Penis problems

Hi there,

I am a 25 year old male who has recently been diagnosed with severely low Vitamin D levels. Just 2 weeks ago I was having no problems getting or maintaining an erection. However since then I gained symptoms such as weakness, fatigue and pins and needles in my extremities (including penis). I of course went to my GP who ran blood tests and told me of this severe Vitamin D issue. Now I don't seem to be waking up with a morning erection and cannot get a full one until the point of ejaculation. Where as before hand I was almost always feeling something down there, i now seem to feel nothing.

I have been put on a course of supplements (60,000 IU OF VITAMIN D3 A WEEK FOR 12 WEEKS). I have taken one weeks worth and am still experiencing problems, most alarmingly numbness of my penis. I am worried I damaged my penis masturbating whilst suffering from the low vitamin levels (i remember touching myself whilst feeling pins and needles elsewhere in my body).

Should I be concerned? do you think it is because of my Vitamin levels, and if I am patient my problem will resolve?

Thanks for your help, I am of course very worried. As a young man it is a big part of my life! Has happened so suddenly and just feels weird.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, to begin with stop worrying. Masturbating is normal and is not known to cause any symptoms, side effects or ill effects. So, if you are experiencing erectile dysfunction, it is not due to masturbation. If you are worried or depressed about this there is nothing for you to fear. For your symptoms you will need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and determine the cause so that appropriate therapy can be initiated. Regards.
