What's wrong with my eyes?

I wear contacts, and I have for about two years.... Recently I have noticed that after wearing a pair of contacts for only about 2 weeks when I take them out there is a whitish film covering them, and my eyes turn red, however it is not painful. (I also don't have allergies)I take extra care to keep my contacts clean and wash my hands before touching my eyes. Also the problem goes away when I am not wearing contacts. Does anyone have some insight as to what might be the problem?

Try a different brand of cleaning solution.  My husband quit wearing contacts for years because this used to happen.
He used to use the Bausch and Lomb 3 in 1...then he started having similar problems.
He looked awful for hours on end, with the red eyes, and his eyes looked like there was a thick film of mucus on them.
One day, I couldn't find his 3 in 1 solution and ended up buying separate bottles.
We never looked back.

I was a contact lens wearer for many years, and I've had several episodes of corneal problems which might have been avoided.  Based on my experience, when your contacts make your eyes turn red, you should consult the eye care professional who prescribed them.  You might do better with a different brand of contacts.

It is most likely protein deposits.  Take them out sooner.
