Hello,
So for two years I have been having vertigo problems mainly while driving(particularly at faster speeds or on the interstate). I have seen many doctors, even an ENT, and neuro-ophthalmologist. They all told me either it will pass or they were not sure. I recently got told I have binocular dysfunction and my eyes can not work together to make one picture. I have gotten told by 3 optometrists that surgery or prisms will not work to correct this issue as I "do not respond to them". I also have astigmatisms in both eyes. In my right eye however I notice I will see a ghost image especially while driving looking at stop lights. I have discovered that to see this it has to be in the middle part of my vision because if its lower or higher it will appear normal. I can also make the split light go away by looking up or down. It also does not appear when I am closer to the light. I can also see this sometimes with other lighting as well and even objects but not as noticeable. I have found a condition called Vertical Heterophoria that i'm thinking may be causing this split lighting. This condition though, not many doctors have heard about it and from my understanding there are only 3 doctors in the US highly trained to treat it with prisms. I also have headaches every day that the doctors are just diagnosing as migraines and I have been on 3 different meds for the migraines/vertigo with little success. Any advice would be appreciated. I just want my normal life back!
