lens transplant

If the lens shows up in an mri will it give off the same distortion as a piece of metal. the tech said that it looked like my son has metal in his head he could not be sure of the size or placement (on the right side) because of the distortion but he has no implants or fillings. The only thing he has had done is his catarac surgery in his right eye. Is this what is being seen?

Is there anything else that has to do with the catarac surgery that could cause the distortion

The IOL will NOT give that appearance. It is made of plastic or silicone. Metal IOLs haven't been in use for 30+ years. The IOL will look like, well and IOL in the eye.
