Blurred vision - sleeping, binoculars, etc.

Hi. I have been experiencing blurred vision off and on for several years now. I have gone to many eye doctors, neurologists, etc. No one can explain it. The tested me for MS, among other things. All tests were negative. The blurred vision appears to be in one eye (the right). and it APPEARS to be worse if I sleep on my side. I also get blurred vision if I try to use binoculars or take photos, both of which I do a lot because I am a nature writer and photographer. So it must have something to do with the action of squinting my eyes. Does anyone have any suggestion?

One thing that I find VERY odd is that when I was waiting in a doctors office to have a brain scan, there was another young woman there with the identical symptom. She also thought hers was worse if she slept on her side.

I'd have to go back through my tests to see what tests I have already had. I know that they did tests to check for MS and they did scans of my head and neck. I'm pretty sure I had optic nerve testing. There was some sort of test where they flashed a lot of lights. I appreciate the answers. I'll see if I can find a more thorough opthamologist.

I suggest you have a complete dilated exam and visual field testing, optic nerve testing, OCT scan of retina, refraction and more as indicated. Maybe you are smashing the eye and flattening the cornea temporarily by sleeping on one side.  Maybe you are compromising blood flow.  An ophthalmologist should be able to come up with at least some theory and do a very complete workup to make sure you are not in any danger of real vision loss.  I guess that's the best that can be done and would be my priority.  Rule out something serious, something that can get worse.
