Am worried I was given a lens with the wrong power

I had cataract surgery on one eye on 2/16. The vision is that eye is now strange. Objects appear to be further away in that way than in the other eye. Also, my distance vision is lousy. Close up vision is lousy. And I can't even read with reads ranging in power from 1.5 to 3.0. I have about 20/30 vision in the eye for which no surgery was performed and the vision on the eye in which the surgery was done is now only 20/60. I believe a lens with the wrong power was probably used. What do you think? Am I guessing right?

The doctor says he has to wait at least a month to determine if the wrong lens power was used. Does that make sense?"

Also, the doctor said that rather than replace the lens, he would suggest doing Lasik surgery. Does that make sense?

I was given a lense in the eye in which I am having problems of 16. I was told the other eye would be 18. It is hard for me to believe my eyes are that much different because I drove for many years without glasses.
What do you think? Am I guessing right on this or not?

Your surgeon should carefully perform a glasses test 'refraction"  if your eye is normal and no complications are present then with the glasses you should see 20/20. then you need to know what the glasses RX is and what it is in your unoperated eye because they have to match up.  The problem is if it is not possible to improve your vision to 20/20 with glasses. That would indicate some sort of complication such as swelling of the cornea or macula.   Read this article carefully:   http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/1648102/Consider-ALL-the-Options-Before-Your-Cataract-Surgery-Working-Through-Whats-Best-For-You    Let me know what your glasses RX is in the other eye and if you have had a glasses test.

Thank you for your answer. I will read that article very carefully. I have not had a full glasses test since my surgery. When I had my vision tested in 2015, the vision in the other eye (not the one on which surgery was performed) was:

Sphere -0.75
Cylinder -0.59
Axis X 35
Add 2.50
Okay so your unoperated eye does not have a strong glasses RX.  Do you see 20/20 in that eye? Does it have a cataract. you need to request a glasses test refraction next time in.  Also you can check you eye with a pin hole and see if it makes it better.   Take a playing card and stick a tiny nail through the center so there is a tiny "pin hole' all the way through the card. If you look through it and it makes things much clear then a refraction/glasses test should make your vision much better. If it does not make the vision clearer then it may be a surgical complication.
Do you think they selected to wrong power for the lens or stuck in a wrong lens? I am so amazed that after this surgery, objects seem to be significantly different in size when looked at with just the operated eye or the other eye. I feel that if the objects were the same size as they used to be, I would be able to see just fine!

Also, please let me know what this all means. The technician told me that I needed a lens of 16 power for the left eye (this is the eye that was operated on) and 18 in the right eye. Yet, when I look at the lens identification card I was given, it says they implanted a AcrySof IQ IOL w/Ulra Sert Systems. And there is the word "Power:" followed by "19.0 D". Does that make sense. Why would the tech say I needed a lens with a power of 16 when the ID card says I received a 19.0D powered lens?
Please answer my questions above about the power issue but I have to tell you that I am so impressed!!! I tried the pin hole (small nail hole) in a card idea, and wow!, I could see much more clearly through that hole. How does work? Amazing!
You can read about pinhole effect on the internet.  That would indicate that a glasses test should make your vision much better.  The surgeon chooses the IOL power not the tech. ASK FOR A REFRACTION NEXT VISIT.

Sorry about all of the typos! But, I think you will understand what I mean.

I should add one more comment. Objects in the eye on which surgery was performed appear to be significantly smaller than objects in the other eye. Also, objects in the operated-on eye appear to be further right than objects in the other eye. This is just crazy vision, it seems to me.
