I am not aware of anything that can be done to improve the cosmetic appearance of your eye. You might want to make an appointment at the a University Medical School departmentn of ophthalmology.

After a few hours of googling, I actually found this Korean journal article:
ftp://210.101.116.16/kiss6/14808455.pdf
that can improve the cosmetic appearance of my eye see page 2 for more details (I cant read Korean but the image actually looks promising though and there are some English descriptions in pg 4). Should I email them to see how this procedure is being done?
I could not open that link. If you are still interested in researching this sure e mail them.

Since I dont live in America, I cant really past this journal article to the University Medical School department of ophthalmology but do you think is worthwhile to send this article to them so they can do further studies on it and hopefully this type of surgery can be available world wide? If so do you have an email address which I can use to contact them?
That works. Looks like just what you're looking for. There is a fax # and an e mail address on that page.

After reading that little paragraph, it kinda kept me wondering.... what exactly is scleral painting (does that mean they will paint the sclera white??) and scleral allograft transplantation??
I do not know what scleral painting is. Scleral allograph is taking white stuff (sclera) from a dead person, preparing and sterilizing it then sewing it on the outside of the eye.

what about using a less invasive method like wearing custom made scleral contact lenses that would cover the white of your eye where it needs to be covere? that might be the best option for you for now.
I've tried googling around for some of those contact lenses you’ve been talking about, but Im not sure if they are safe to use on daily bases. Are they are the ones that you are talking about? See link:

Im worried that they are not properly tested so its going to make my eye even worst…
I am a white female of thirty-seven and have the same condition. I have asked several eye doctors about cosmetic procedures. They don't seem to exist here in the states. I have
read about procedures in certain parts of Asia but it is difficult to talk to anyone due to the language barrier. If you find any new information, let me know!

Hi,
I thought I'm the only one who had this problem.
After looking at ur post
I found out that I have exactly the same case as yours
Have you tried to contact the The Korean Ophthalmological Society ?
please share this for us too :)
Hi, yeah I tried contacting them and they said their Korean journals are currently under review, once that's been approve there might be an English version of the article available so we can all understand :), but they are still not sure when its going to come out :(
He also said this procedure is very new and its only available in Korea. Less just hope in a few years time, its going to be available worldwide!
oh, i see.
did you ask them how much does it gonna costs?
and is there any risk to do that?
I hope it's going to be available worldwide. :(
please tell me if there's new information :)
Thanks
Until the surgery becomes available, you might want to consider
a custom full scleral lens. I have called a place in New York called
custom contacts. They specialize in lenses that conceal asthetic
eye problems. They do the best color matching of the normal eye
possible. They do special effect lenses for movies as well. One lens
runs about $350.
Unfortunately I dont live in US (Im from Australia) so it kinda makes it hard for me to create a custom lens :( Are they any good and how long do they last for?
Hi,
do you have any new information about this?
They should last as long as quality extended wear contacts. These are not the cheap
"Halloween" schleral lenses like cat eyes that can only be worn 4 hours at a time.
It is called Custom Contacts. The toll free number is: 1-800-598-2020
Hi,
I am going to get married soon and I have nevus of ota in my one eye :( and from your post it seems that custom made scleral lens could be a solution.
Do you have their web address so that I can mail them .
Their web is: ***@**** Telephone#: 1(800) 598-2020
This site would not let me list the web address, but the phone number is listed.
my baby have the same case as yours in fact she had her face also..im so worried because i think its getting worse everyday..huhuhuhu...she's only 6 months old now..
Hi,
Thanks for your info. I saw the article about sclera painting (korea article) and I emailed them. I have the same situation. I have a blueish/black color in the right white part of my eye. This made me so cautious all my life. If you have more info please let me know. I will be checking here. Do you know about eye tattooing was not sure if this is the same as sclera painting?. Thanks again for the article info.
