Diplopia due to abduction after eye Trauma

My 8 year son fell on erected steel rod one year back. After the surgery he developed abduction of right eye and consequently horizontal double vision(Diplopia). six months later the eye size starded getting smaller due to swelling of lower eye lid. He was then operated for exploration, but the double vision persisted and the swelling of lowe lid continued. On CT scan a displaced bone was found as a foreign body near the later wall of the orbit. Fifteen days back orbitotomy was performed and he was succesfully operated for removal of bone part measuring 19  mm (1.9 cm ) in length and 3 mm in diameter . But the problem of double vision is still not cured. Please guide me possible reasons. and its cure  methodologies if any. Please also suggest me the best surgeons(hospitals ) available for the solutions of  his problem.I am located in India and cannot afford costly surgical treatments immediately.I will grate full to you if I get some case hisories of such patients.

You will need to allow everal months to go by for him to recover from this surgery and let the swelling go down (perhaps 3-6 months). They he needs to see a strabismus (eye muscle) specialists ophthalmologist. They are often called "pediatric ophthalmologists". Your present surgeons can make the referral.

No need to leave home. India has many find strabismus specialists but I cannot give you a name or institution that is best.
