Note to Ruth. I found your phone number from the staff person that took it but they must have copied it wrong as the message said it was no longer in service.  I won't give the exact phone number but it started:  85X-2X4-XXX7

Ruth,
I am very sorry. We have 8 offices and several surigicenters and a centralized call center. I got a message that someone had called about a ReStor problem and I asked the call center to send me an e mail, fax or note with the contact information. I did not receive it.

The two ophthalmologists at the University of Kansas that are working with me have submitted a protocol to the Institutional Review Committee. No research program can be done until the IRC signs off that the study is ethical and patients are not put at risk. After permission is obtained we will probably develop a questionaire about people experience.

If you have access to a fax you can send the information to me at my personal fax 816 454 8478   or mail it to me by regular mail. My office address is listed under "Doctors" above. We are anxious to have you in our study but it will probably take at least 6 months for us to complete. Right now we are trying accumulate cases where after extensive work ups the problem turns out to be the ReStor (or ReZoom or Crystalens).

I trained at Emory University in Atlanta and they are one of the top 10 Eye programs in the USA. If you are willing to travel Emory has all the experts you would need. If you go be sure and tell them that an Emory Graduate Dr. John Hagan MD felt the problem could be "vasoline" vision or dysphotopsia due to the ReStor IOL.

You might print this out and take it in with you, these are some of the studies I've published on dysphotopsia and blurred vision with premium multifocal IOLs
