Appropriate IOL for amblyopic patient

Hi friends,my name is Fausto and i am speaking from Brazil,my english is not that good,so sorry if i do some mistakes.

This is my first post here.In 2008 i passed through a refractive laser surgery by PRK method but remained some relevant degrees in both eyes and my cornea got thin and so plane. To have a good vision i have to wear glasses or contact lenses ( and i dont adapt to any kind of these) and i dont want any of these choices anymore.

My option is to implant lenses due the nowadays state of my cornea(i cant pass through a new eye laser surgery),i have amblyopia on my right eye (10% of vision),and talking to a Doctor here at Brazil through internet he agreed with me when i said dont had any sense implant monofocal lenses on both eyes leaving one to see on a near distance and other to sse on a far distance because it to my ambliopic eye doesn't matter, doesn't has relevant difference,i said to him had sense to implant one multifocal toric lens on my dominant eye (toric because i have astigmatism and would avoid incision on cornea).

Am i sure?Would this kind of lens a good option?

Thank you.

The glare and halo aberrations that i got after PRK are minimum, could i lead with additional glare and halo from multifocal lens with no problem?

Thank for the replies Doctor.

The implantation of one lens on my amblyopic eye still is not a possibility because the Doctor didn't say that.

But Doctor, implanting one monofocal lenses on my dominant eye i would have only one vision ( far vision),how do i overcome that?

LASIK or PRK will increase glare and halos with a multifocal IOL.  Why are you having surgery in the amblyopic eye with only 10% vision?  Does the doctor expect significant improvement in vision?  You are not a candidate for monovision due to the ambyopia.

I had PRK.
But just implanting a monofocal toric IOL taking into account the amblyopia would i have one monovision?I make such a question beacause using the monovison technique wouldn't make any difference to me,tha ambliopic eye does'nt affect my global vision in almost nothing.

I would recommend you just have a toric IOL to correct the astigmatism and not get a multifocal IOL.  You already had LASIK and will probably more glare and halos than usual.
