Trouble looking inwards after strabismus surgery

Hello,

A year ago, I had strabismus surgery. All went well, and my eyes were straight. However, I noticed that I had problems looking inwards towards the nose. The muscle that was operated on was the medial rectus of the left eye (the muscle that pulls the eye inwards, closest to the nose). I was esotropic, and therefore the muscle was weakened.

After the surgery, I couldn't look to the right properly. My left eye (the eye that was operated on), moves at a slower rate than my right eye. It's also stuck after a while. When I look fully to the right, my right eye is working fine, while my left eye is stuck at some point, and it causes double vision (because both eye move separately from each other).

In other words, the surgery prevented me from looking inwards properly. I can't even see the bridge of my nose with my left eye.

My question is, why is this? What is it? What's causing it? And how do I fix it? Do I need more surgery on the muscle? Can it be fixed with eye muscle exercises?

Additional notes:
-I have had strabismus surgery when I was really young (I'm 24 now). The doctor said there was lots of scar tissue, and he removed it.
-The surgery I mentioned above was in October 2010. I recently had surgery again in an attempt to fix the problem by loosening the muscle on the OUTSIDE of the eye (so the opposite muscle), because the doctor thought it was not relaxing enough, and blocked the eye from moving. The surgery was unsuccessful.
-My doctor(s) can't really tell what's going on.

I have this issue for over a year now, and it's slowly driving me insane. Help please.

It is impossible for me to comment.  You have a complex situation and you have not provided me any number.  Consider a second opinion.
