Glare and Halos

Hi,

21 days ago (02/18;2011), I had a cataract from my RE removed and a SN60WF IOL implanted.
Surgery was perfect, until now my recovery seems to be pretty good.
My RE is now plano. My subjective perception is very good, contrast, colors e etc are great.
But, as my LE has -3.75 (myopia) and -2.0@83 (astigmatism), I can not use neither my reading, nor my far viewing glasses. Both glasses causes eye fatigue, double vision and headache. This problem is called aniseikonia,
I will try to use contact lens on my LE, it should solve this problem, but didn`t receive it yet.
For now, for distance viewing my RE is so good that it compensates my LE myopia/astigmatism until I get my contacts.
But for reading/work with monitors I had to use my reading glasses with one of the lens covered.
Of course, these situations is far from good, even now with my plano distance view RE, at the end of the day I feel tired and feel a mild pain around my RE.
Two days ago, my RE started to see glare and halos around very bright lights at night (car lights for example), most white light sources. I stiil can see pretty well, but this glares and halos are annoying.
Does anyone felt this before ? Could this eye fatigue cause these symptons ?
By the way, I also have glaucoma with IOP under control and now vision lost.
Regards.

See your surgeon.  You are probably developing PC haze.

Just a follow up, I talked to my dr. today, I explained that the vision was cloudy and that I was seeing halos and glare at night. He did a fast exam and could easily see that it is indeed PCO. He was surprised PCO developed so fast, but my cataract also developed very fast, it went from start to surgery in less than a year. He said we need to wait 2 or 3 months for a full recovery of the surgery, before doing the YAG laser procedure. Well, although it would be better not to have this PCO, at least it is a known e relatively ease to fix problem.

Dr. Ray,

Thanks a lot for your help.
I saw my Dr. this morning.
He didn`t  find nothing wrong, just a few floaters, that I had before surgery.
No inflammation, no edema, no "dry eyes", IOL perfect centered, IOP 15 (LE) and 14 (RE), visual accuity 20/20.
For now I will do a retinal mapping exam, that he would ask me to do anyway.
But I see now that the information I gave him was not clear, so he didn`t search for PC Haze. Now I have more data to tell him.
I can`t use my glasses due to aniseikonia induced by my glasses (LE is -3.75, RE is "0"), I will try contact lens on LE to see if I can solve this.
But I use this glasses anyway to do a quick test, I put my glasses at night and LE vision is more clear then RE, RE is a little "waxed", and it was just perfect a few days ago.
For now It is not a big difference, but I can notice.
By the way, of course my glasses RE lens is now plano.
RE is the eye that had its cataract removed about 20 days ago.
My IOL is a Alcon AcrySof IQ SN60WF.
I will explain this to him on my next review on tuesday.

You need to give it time im at 6.5months out and still they getting better,it can take up to 12months,surgery causes dry eye which can last months after surgery, dont have laser etc until this time is up can make it worst, use flaxseed oil teaspoon morning and night work miracles on eye for dry eye etc,
