You need to put a lot of thought into this. This is a question I ask any patient considering cataract surgery. I've done over 12,000 cataract operations and done pre and post operative care on many times that. I ask the patient "For everything you need to do, how big of a problem is your vision: no problem, small problem, medium problem, big problem, big problem bothers me enough to have surgery having an understanding of the risks involved. Unless the patient answers the latter we do not do surgery. If this is not a big problem big enough to do surgery you should consider waiting till it is. Also being young and myopic you are at increased risk of retinal detachment, and likely both eyes would need to have surgery to balance.
